It has been recalled by one of Imam’s companions that international journalists and reporters were eager to cover Imam Khomeini’s funeral.

It has been recalled through a series of memoirs by Ayatollah Mahdavi Kani that he was in Britain for treatment when Imam passed away.

“After Imam’s passing, I had to return for Imam's funeral. On the way, I encountered international journalists who wanted to come to Iran to give coverage to Imam’s funeral.”

Therefore, the passenger plan was full because these reporters were even willing to buy tickets at any high price.

Some of them had also wrong perception and thought that after Imam’s passing, the revolution and the Islamic system would fall apart.
